Public Bus in Grenada
If you’re visiting Grenada, you can always get around the island by renting a car or hiring a cab, but why do that when buses are so convenient? All you have to do is seek a minivan with a large sticker on the passenger side indicating the zone number it operates in and raise your hand. A conductor will be there when the train comes to a halt.
The bus stops anywhere it is needed, except in St. George and surrounding areas, which have bus stops. They frequently drive from Grand Anse to St. George. The drive lasts roughly 10 minutes and costs about EC$2.50 for each passenger.
The buses are licensed to operate in one of nine zones, All bus lines begin at the terminal on Melville Street in St. George’s bus terminal with the exception of Zone 9, which extends from Grenville (on the east coast) to Sauteurs (on the north). The terminal’s destinations are clearly indicated, and all buses have destination stickers. To get from one area of the island to another, you normally take the bus into town and then transfer to another bus to get to your destination.
If you’re still a little lost, all you have to do is ask our helpful staff for directions. The longest trip is to the town of Sauteurs, located on the island’s northern coast. It is also the most expensive of all the journeys, at $8.00 EC. On weekdays and Saturdays, buses run on a regular schedule from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

There are several automobile rental firms on the island. The cost of hiring a vehicle varies depending on the season, but on average, it costs around US$50 per day for a local driver’s license and insurance. Prices vary slightly amongst companies, so don’t be afraid to browse around.

Grenada cab fares are consistent throughout the island. All your driver needs to know is your end location, and they should have a rate card with the predetermined price accessible. For example, to travel from St. George to Grand Anse Valley, plan to pay $50ec. On the other hand, a longer trip from the airport to Annandale Waterfall would cost $75ec.
You can pay in either US dollars or the local currency, East Caribbean dollars. When getting into a cab, always be sure to check the rate card to avoid unpleasant surprises and overcharging.
